
One-Day Retreat to foster healing and overall wellbeing:
Becoming Well Within: Reduce Stress and Anxiety and Foster Healing
The pursuit of personal well-being is especially challenging in the midst of crisis. This retreat is for anyone who seeks respite from personal health or economic hardship or finds themselves anxious about the barrage of “bad news” from around the world. During this daylong retreat, we will create peace in the present moment and provide you with tools for sustaining well-being through difficult times. After learning and experiencing several stress-reduction and healing modalities offered, including healing touch, imagery, meditation, breathing exercises, visualization, and story-telling, participants will develop a personal self-care plan for use at home and work.

| 9:00am | Presentation: Introduction to Mind-Body Skills: How to Manage Stress and Maintain a Strong Immune System --Discussion of the importance of developing coping tools and techniques for managing the stress and anxiety that affects both survivors and caregivers. |

| 7:00pm | Presentation: Support Groups to Soul Friendships: The Healing Power of Relationships, with Others and with the Divine --discuss research demonstrating the importance of expressing our feelings to others and the role of support groups --explain the concept of “thin places” and soul friendships as a means of sharing stories and receiving spiritual support. --the importance of prayer and maintaining hope Exercise: done in triads: after a guided imagery, share stories of spiritual experiences and discuss how doing this impacts our journey towards healing |
